Duncan Calder: Make an Initiative for Belt and Road project to build strong relations between Australia and China

China has strategic approach to its important and inclusive Belt and Road vision and Australia is one of the country’s best places to offer important economic infrastructure projects of authentic material with a destination of little sovereign hazard.

China’s, President Xi Jinping has already labeled the Belt and Road Initiative as the “project of the century” that would benefit the people all over the world. Belt and Road provides the momentum to enable us to finally develop exciting infrastructure projects that we have desired from the long time but have been unable to deliver.

This is an important project that can help to open up the Mid West of WA and one of the ideally suited to become a flagship for Sino-Australian partnership under Belt and Road.

It has been delayed from the long time due to the past bad decisions but now is the time to present a China-led solution to take advantage of prevailing favorable conditions for the construction of major projects in Australia.

From Australia’s perspective, Duncan Calder plays an important role to build strong business and trading relations with the Australia. He always tries to build business relations with China in high powered project like Belt and Road in which the Mid West region of Australia is the best and underdeveloped. Also this region is being hindered by the lack of a deepwater port. China finds the area as a potentially huge magnetite iron ore region where it can play the foremost role.

Duncan Calder is past national and WA president – Australia China Business Council, and managing director of Contour Capital Pty Ltd which has vast experience of making important business tie-up with China on the pretext of growth and make initiative to support Belt and Road Project, the opportunity for Australian business to step up and lead the way in unlocking the attractive trade and investment opportunities.
